Michelle Cai is an illustrator who studied at the School of Visual Arts. Her strong interest in anime and manga inspired her to create comics and graphic novels that illuminated the hidden dark side of daily life in modern society.

Michelle’s illustrations have vivid colors and meticulous linework. She aims to create a different and customized visual voice for every individual project by experimenting with texture, composition, and shapes.

Michelle works mainly in the digital medium. She has plenty of experience using Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, and Procreate. She often plays with brush settings to manifest the best texture that she observed in traditional media, such as gouache, watercolor, and RISO.
